Everyone is shaped by the culture around them. However, as God’s people, we must embrace the culture of God’s kingdom to which we belong. We must remember that we are although we are in this world, we are not of the world. Our way of
life and view on life should be different from those who do not know God.
Unity is key if we want to experience the blessing of the Lord. One of the prayers that Jesus prayed for us before He left the earth is for unity. The reality is if we can be united in our homes, it will be easier to forge a united front with other believers. The culture of unity existed and still exists before Jesus Christ and His father. He said: “I and my Father are one” (Jn 10: 30). He’s calling each couple to experience this oneness as well in their marriage. He desires that husband and wife will become one. He said: “the two shall become one” (Mk 10: 8). They will become a formidable force that cannot be defeated, weakened, or destroyed.
