Who you are…

One of the things you ought to be familiar with as a person is your creator’s perspective about you, what He has in mind when He created you and what He has said about you. So many times we allow other creations to shape how we see ourselves. We give them power to tell us what they think our Creator has said about us. The truth is that no one can accurately and fully describe you except the person who made you in the first place.

Unfortunately, many people have allowed themselves to be influenced or sway away by popular opinions and unreasonable expectations. They have allowed people who are still trying to discover themselves or figure out who they are to define them. This is an error and a bad business. You must learn to listen to your creator above everyone else. What He has said about you should matter most to you. Nothing else.

The truth is that no one can accurately and fully describe you except the person who made you in the first place… What He has said about you should matter most to you.

He has an expectation of you, but His expectations are reasonable and healthy. He places demands on you based on what He has put inside you. He shaped you in a way that you can respond well to different situations around you. In other words, you were shaped for your destiny.

The question we all must ask ourselves is that who is our creator? The Bible recorded that God is (Gen 1: 26).

God created you. Not people. Not your parents. Not your leaders. Not your teachers. Not the government. Not the system. Not even you. You did not make yourself. None of us did. In Psalm 100:3 we read:

“Know (perceive, recognize, and understand with approval) that the Lord is God! It is He Who has made us, not we ourselves [and we are His]! We are His people and the sheep of His pasture (AMP). You did not make yourself. God made you”

This should cause you to be jubilant and excited. it should also be freeing for you to think free and live free! It should help you to have an honest view of yourself. Every time I remember that God made me, I am excited, strong, energetic, and look beyond my weaknesses and fears.

Unfortunately, many people have allowed themselves to be influenced or sway away by popular opinions and unreasonable expectations.

God made us in His image and likeness. Because you were made in His image, you are not an animal. Like some people used to say or want us to believe: you are not a social animal. You are not in the same category of any animal at all. You are higher than them all. So, you could not have evolved from any animal. In the equation of things, you are second to God alone.

God is Spirit and being in His image means that you are not your body. Your body is a container that houses you. Therefore, you need to look beyond the limitations of your physical body. Unfortunately, many people only see themselves as their bodies. They tried to condition their true self based on what they look like on the outside. They tend to define themselves based on the color of their skin, gender, or their disability. They have the propensity of promoting their weaknesses over their strengths. They tend to celebrate their inadequacies and give excuses about the hands they have been played.

You are not your body and your body is not you. You are not a material being. Your body is made out of the ground so that you can suitably and comfortably live on the earth. You need your body to be here because that is the created order. But your being and essence is not your body. That is why it is mistaken to see anyone, yourself included their body. You must refrain from judging people by looking at the container. Look at the content instead. Just as you pour different things in a container, you too were poured into your body. That is why if you want to make an impact and effectively live, you must transcend beyond your body and embrace your true self- a spirit being created in God’s image and likeness. You are neither a nobody nor a nonentity.

God made you for a purpose. In this case, to have and exercise dominion. You are meant to dominate and not to be dominated by anything in your environment. You were created to care for other creations God’s way. You were meant to rule, subdue, and bring order to your environment. You have power and you have been authorized by God to use it. You carry a divine influence. So, you have the grace to be an influential person in different spheres of life based on your gifts, abilities, skill sets, strength, talents, calling, and destiny. God prepared you to rule. This is why it is important to know and always remember where you came from. You are God’s offspring.

Because you were made in His image, you are not an animal. You are not in the same category of any animal at all. You are higher than them all. So, you could not have evolved from any animal. In the equation of things, you are second to God alone.

God blessed you. From the creation story recorded in the Bible, we were told that God blessed human beings (Gen 1: 28). Every human being- male and female- carries the blessing of God on their life. Contrary to what some people want us to believe, the blessing is not only for a few people. God’s blessing is a means of empowerment to live as a human being you were meant to be. Without mincing words, YOU ARE BLESSED.

God loaded you with Himself when He created you. He also loaded you with talents, gifts, abilities, strengths, and put your future inside you. Not knowing that you are blessed will make you to live a subverted life. The blessing of dominion is what God used to distinguish you. How I pray that you embrace this word into your spirit! Because He has loaded you, He wants you to be fruitful, to multiply, subdue, be productive, and useful.

Will it be different if you know that you are blessed? So, it is about time you began to walk, live, think, sleep, talk, eat, deal, and do everything as a blessed person. The blessing is to make you more, thrive, successful, valuable, impactful, resourceful, helpful, and beneficial to everyone around you. It is your marching order to live as a worthy person. You must start seeing yourself well- as a privileged person and not as deprived. You must always feel blessed.

God created you to work. The way to put the blessing on your life to action is through work. Working is a blessing. Work is to ensure that you become. Work is an expression of the blessing. Work is an avenue to release your gift to your environment. Work is a way to keep everyone safe. So, you must learn to create the right environment for you to thrive and do the same thing for the people around you. Work is a way to maintain your authority over everything that God has created. It is important to know that creating the earth is work to God. Therefore, work is anything you do to create something worthwhile no matter how insignificant you think it is.

Work is about making people’s lives better. Work is providing service. Work is a way to serve and contribute. Work is whatever you are doing that is meant to enhance the dignity and worth of the people around you. Just like God expected Adam to care for the garden, dress it, make it look nice and presentable, and patterned it after the created order. Work is a way that you too can establish and ensure the created order consistently. You were shaped and designed to work. Your body is meant to be engaged. It is meant to do the things that you were made for.

God created you to function under certain instructions, premises, and parameters. No one can thrive without boundaries. God’s instructions are not meant to limit you but to build a hedge around your life. They are meant to help you thrive within a given environment. Just as there are laws that govern the traffics, nature, and the universe as a whole, so also there are laws that govern every human endeavor. God’s laws are not restrictive. Within the perimeter of those laws is the freedom to express yourself as much as you can. Freedom is not doing anything you want to do, however you want to do it, and whenever you want to do it. Life contains checks and balances.

If we do not keep the law that governs life, we will create a problem for ourselves and others.

Please understand the laws that govern human interactions, success, living and start applying them. They will keep you from experiencing evil. These instructions are God’s way of reminding you that you are meant to be a responsible person. The violation of those laws means that you will not become as you ought to and you will be out of sync with your creator and your authentic self. Acting against those laws is invariably acting against yourself. If we do not keep the law that governs life, we will create a problem for ourselves and others. How many people have destroyed other people’s lives because of their so-called freedom?

As I conclude, people understand that you did not create yourself, God did and He knew what He was doing all along. Also, know that you are blessed. Remember that life involves checks and balances so that none of us will keep on acting against the created order.
